While much of astrology is consistent across practices, cultures and approaches, there are disagreements about how to break up the signs and houses and rulerships and a few dozen other et ceteras. With that caveat out of the way, my approach puts Venus as the ruler of the second house by virtue of its rulership of the second sign Taurus. And the second house is the indicator of one’s resources. Resources are the things in the material world that connect us to it. The big one is, of course, money.

But resources are so much more than money. This one crabby smacktalker blabbed on and on and on about how she didn’t think her second house indicated her money status. She whined about not being rich. Of course she barely ever got off her ass. But she didn’t resonate with her second house because she wanted to be rich. I pointed out that her large breasts were the manifestation of her second house, her best resources, and she should have used them when she was young to land a rich husband.

Suffice to say she hates me now.

So what are your resources? Follow Venus as it transits and get going with the interaction between transiting Venus and a planet in your chart. What planet rules your second house? When Venus gets in good with that planet the resources amplify. When any transiting planet interacts with your natal Venus the money situation will be impacted.

Resources are not paper portraits of dead presidents. But those are the stand-in for your resources and that is why money is associated with the second house and the ruler of that is the goddess herself.
